MAO'S LAST DANCER
This movie is shaping up to be a contender for next year's film awards. It's opening night at the Toronto Film Festival received a standing ovation. Opening in Australia on 01 October, the trailer has been running hot in Sydney cinemas for the past few weeks.
AUSTRALIA
The most expensive Australian film ever made and the second highest grossing movie after Crocodile Dundee. The panoramic scenes of outback Australia has inspired many visitors to visit Kununarra and the water hole (Nicole's special place) and many areas across the top of Australia so the tourism promotion did have some success.
AFI AWARDS
The 2009 Australian Film Industry Awards are now in the process of being judged and this year an unprecedented 26 feature films have been entered. With comedy, terror, life and very confronting stories in the mix it will be a hard call to nominate a winner.
